While we are on the subject of beards it would be criminal not to post this amazing photo of me by my good friend and fellow Back to The Future aficionado, Douglas Sonders. I was hanging out at the studio with Doug the other day while he shot photos of a family friend for a campaign and well, everything just fell into place. You can see more information on the photo including lighting setup and post processing by checking out Doug’s blog.

Wow. I am taken aback by this video. For once in my life I am at a loss for words. Being a heavily tattooed person one of the biggest issues I deal with in my life is the lack of acceptance of tattoos in our society. Anyone who has had to cover their tattoos for a job or anything else in life can more than likely agree with me on that.

So I ask, do these two photos make you think differently of me?

My tripod came today! I am pretty excited because I have never owned a nice tripod before. The type of photography I do doesn’t generally require a tripod, but I figured it would be nice to have one. When you get to higher end tripods you get to pick the legs and the head separate, so I went with SLIK 700DX legs, and a Manfrotto 804RC2 head. So far it is really nice! Heavy enough to feel comfortable putting my setup on it, but not too heavy to carry around. It also came with a nice bag for the legs, which will probably one day come in handy! Be like me and cop your own here and here.

This is Ryan McLaughlin of Typefighter, the DC band that will be playing my good friend Mike’s wedding at the end of this month. I will be shooting his wedding and I am honestly really excited for the whole thing. It should be a really great dynamic. Stay tuned for photos!
