Goodbye Tumblr, Hello WordPress.

I knew eventually this day would come, but I am leaving tumblr. Since I originally started blogging here way back in January of 2009 I have had a great time meeting people and interacting with my readers, but the time has come that tumblr no longer fits my needs as a blogger. I will keep this short and sweet, but I love you guys and I hope that you continue to read my blog in its new format.

I will keep my tumblr blog active indefinitely, and have imported all 1,600 of my posts over to WordPress. I will also keep the same domain so there is no need to update your Google Readers. For reference, that address is: http://blog.shootjoec.com

Six Hundred Fifty Two

While sitting here drinking some tea I decided to see just how many blog posts I have made since January first of this year and the number was a bit surprising. As anyone who follows me online (and anyone who knows me in real life for that matter) knows, I spend a LOT of time on the Internet. Whether I am blogging, Facebooking, Tweeting or just messing around on forums. Many of you also know that I my “in real life” job is being a social media manager for an awesome company, which gives me the opportunity to talk to the masses as much as my heart desires.

That being said, I wanted to take this opportunity to once again invite all of my followers here and all the great people who follow my blog via RSS feed to check out some of my professional work. So what is the number of posts you ask…

652

That means that in the last seven months and twenty one days, or two hundred twenty days to be exact I have posted almost three posts, every single day.

So do me a favor, while I stream out this seemingly endless concoction of thoughts and opinions, follow me, and most importantly please let me know what you think!

Social Media Manager

As some (or none) of you may know, I am the social media manager in the Washington, DC area. I absolutely love my job, it is everything that I love to do in my personal life AND I get paid for it. As everyone who is involved in any aspect of social media knows, sometimes it takes a little shameless self promotion to make yourself well known. That being said, I would like to take this time to introduce some of the projects I have been working on!

Brown’s Hyundai:

When I first was presented the opportunity to work for a Hyundai dealership I was very excited, Hyundai is a company that has rose up and taken control of the automotive industry, once a small company making entry level cars for the American Public, they are now nothing short of a powerhouse, driven by outside of the box marketing and  record shattering product, after record shattering product. Hyundai has introduced several new models and several redesigned models over the course of the last year and show no sign of stopping. Pledging to reach 50mpg across the board in the next fifteen years, and already destroying the competition with a 40mpg non-hybrid Elantra, they are really getting attention.

Brown’s Subaru:

I have always been a fan of Subaru, across the board all wheel drive, all of the amenities , fair pricing, honestly what is there not to like? The first car that comes to many of our minds is the STI, introduced to America in 2004, its popularity has grown and grown. Now, so much more than just a very fast sedan, the STI has become the go to performance car for everyone from teenagers to grandparents. Don’t let the STI fool you though, Subaru has more five star crash rated cars than any other manufacturer and they look damn good doing it. After three months of working for Subaru and spending my time in and out of several different models I decided I would purchase a 2011 Legacy for my wife, and it has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. I know that when my wife takes my son out, whether its a sunny day or dumping snow, they WILL be safe. Symmetrical all wheel drive and heated seats, what more can a daddy ask for?!

Rainier Arms:

A small company out of Washington State (one of my favorite places!) Rainier Arms is one of those companies that you want to support, top notch customer service and a line up of products from Aimpoint to Zero Tolerance Knives. I approached Rainier Arms and spoke with the owner regarding their social media presence and we came to an agreement. He has been friendly and very open to suggestions, everything you could want in a client. For those of you who aren’t familiar with Rainier, they’re tagline is “Taking the AR15 to New Levels,” and they are doing just that! Aside from an unbelievable offering of products from every manufacturer under the sun, they have also developed their own products, which is something that a lot of companies don’t have the drive or skill to do. With forged lower receivers than make me drool with desire to free floating handguards that match the quality of much much higher end brands, Rainier Arms is doing it right across the board. If you are looking for anything firearm related I cannot recommend them enough, and that is coming from me as a consumer, not as an affiliate.
